Vielen Dank,

This sticky has been created in response to the most commonly asked questions regarding the most recent game update.
Whilst we continue to gather feedback, we will add any other frequently asked questions regarding this update to this thread.
Be sure to come back regularly!
"Why can't we attack the Strykewyrms without the necessary assignment?"
Following the high appreciation of Kuradal’s dungeon, we decided to adopt a similar mechanic that links the slayer monster to the players who are actively trying to train the Slayer skill, rather than “farming for drops”.
Please keep in mind that this doesn't mean that all future updates will follow this format, we just decided to use a similar approach in this instance.
"Why can’t 99 Slayers kill them without an assignment?"
We are reading your feedback regarding this and it's currently under discussion.
"Why did you make the Fire Cape a requirement?"
As they were distinctly “ice” from an early stage of development, the obvious weakness and counteraction to this is fire.
Originally, this was fire spells doing double damage against the NPC and ice spells healing them (this is still in-game). The idea developed from that into - to keep the Ice strykewyrms at bay, you had to constantly show them you had the power of their weakness – fire, which would also imbue your attacks to penetrate their freezing form.
Whilst some people may feel this requirement wasn’t necessary, we wanted to keep in form with the more elite-level content idea and promote the fire and ice feel to the higher end Strykewyrms. Usually, when NPCs require distinct items to kill, they are not as well received as some others – such as requiring you to sacrifice an Abyssal Whip to use a Leaf-bladed Spear to fight Turoths. With Slayer being a combat related skill, linking it to a Fire Cape seemed far less harsh for those who have it as they were already likely wearing it for their general Slayer assignments. Whilst this “non-slayer item” was previously adopted to a lesser extent (Elemental Shields & Wyverns), we are still monitoring reception and feedback on it.
"Why doesn’t Kuradal assign the Jungle Strykewyrms?"
Following player feedback, you’ll be seeing them on her list soon.
We are currently in discussion over the possibility of adding Ice Strykewyrms to Duradel/Lapalok, but not as common a task as from Kuradal if they appear there.
On the topic of Slayer tasks, to quash an issue that has been been posted several times, in regards to the actual assignment mechanic, it isn’t as straightforward as people seem to think.
If a Slayer master has 26 things on his list, when you speak to him the chance of getting a monster IS NOT 1 in 26. Each monster on the list has a different relative probability of being assigned, using this system it makes it possible (if we wanted) to have 2 masters with IDENTICAL lists, but different probabilities, so one master might send their pupils after Banshees, whereas the other might pick Iron Dragons.
"What is the drop rate of the Staff of Light?"
The drop rate is the same as the Abyssal Whip.
"Huh? Why isn’t the Staff of Light lendable?"
Sorry, this was an oversight and will be rectified soon.
